WIND SHIFT

2-02-14 by dave

That little bit of Lake Effect that came through late yesterday left 3 to 4 inches of ultra light fluff on top of the cushion below, which made this morning a real treat.  The winds shifted from the North to the South out ahead of the next system which will come through this week.  Mineral Basin was very nice this morning as the Groomers were perfect and smooth.  All over the hill echos of the crunchy layer are still reverberating in the snow pack, so expect the unexpected.  The Cirque Traverse is getting a bit better as the wind deposited material is a welcome addition.  I took a long look at the Exotic Trees today, finding very heavy traffic affected lines.  With the low snow pack the exit gullies were very tricky to say the least.  The coverage is improving over all and the fun quotient is rising quickly.  Tomorrow, look for this South wind to be working overnight, so look to the North and North East aspects for some smooth wind deposited lines.  Visibility should be good.   This morning we were treated to a rare sighting of Angel Fire out in Mineral Basin.  You can look right into the light and see forever it seems.   See you for the fun in the AM., and don’t forget to SIZZLE!!   Ciao!!DSC01800
