DOWN NOW

8-22-11

I took a ride up to The Bird to get a glimps of the wild flowers and see how much snow was left in the higher elevations.  There was a heavy breeze blowing that had the distinct heft of fall in it. Summer is not over yet by a long stretch, but there are slight indications of the approach of the next season, and we are on the down hill slide now.  The mountain is in it’s full Summer dress, with the Wild Flowers looking lush and verdant in sharp contrast to the exposed rocks and scree fields.  I love the sight of the hill in it’s non snow character, and see what it is that we glide over, never really touching the ground.  Here is some shots I took of from the peak  , where the temps were warm and comfortable.  There are some folks who are still hitting the sections out in Little Cloud, but the sections are hard and glaciated, but it looked like fun.   I have been hitting the skate board park regularly to keep my timing dialed, and it is fun to pretend that I am on a small wave.  I have never had a Summer to enjoy, and the Dark Matter Wars do not even cross my mind.  That is not to say that I have not been spending a requisite amount of time in Outer Space, because that is were I live, and I enjoy the view from there.   I will be posting again as I move into the next period of time, so stay tuned.   Peace Out!!!
