WARMING UP

1-02-13 by dave

The temps this morning were a bit warmer though a North wind was still blowing, however that few degrees went a long way to make things more comfortable after the last few days of bitter cold.  The Snow Guns were still turning out some sweet Gun Powder for the morning session and the wind had transported some snow and deposited it in the long gullies and hollows, which provided some unreal lines in Mineral Basin all day long.  The wind kept freshening the lines and making them silky smooth and buttery.   The sections that had been scoured were very slabby, so staying in the lines of goodness was a given.  The off trail crud has begun to consolidate, making those lines more consistent, chalky and dry, though the interference patterns are still present, it makes aDSC01150 commitment to the turn easier to dial in.  Tomorrow, look for still warmer temps, though the Northerly flow continues, and look for the long lines of transported snow to once again provide the best of the day.   It also should be  noted that the Grooming work was impeccable to day, offering sumptuous runs top to bottom as the consistency of the snow improves by the day.  The esteemed Dr. Pepper arrived today for his extended stay for this season.  Curiously, he also loves drinking the beverage which just seems so appropriate for a guy with the same name.  He knows he is in for a treat!!!   Peace out!
