TWICE FOOLED

I was looking out of the Trailer this morning pondering whether it was even worth going up, but I drove up in the rain all the way to entry 2, where it turned to snow.  Visibility was marginal at best, but by the time I got to the Peak on first Tram there was bright Sun and a fresh coating of varying depths on the hill.  That fooled me for sure.  Mineral Basin was offering some nice un trackedDSC01407DSC01408 lines on the Groomers, but the off trail was problematic on all sides of the hill.  Here is a shot of the Sun and fresh Essence that was a very nice surprise.  The front of the hill seemed to have frozen a bit more than the back bowl, and the low angle sections skied the best.  The Sunshine did not last long, fooling me once again as it began to dump as another impulse moved in.  As the freshness got tracked out the variations became problematic for my knees, so I bailed to the Forklift Chair to see how things were going to shake out.  There were some select lines off trail that had been smooth during the past days, so they were offering the best choices, but for the most part the bottom was in full effect.  Impulses moved through all day long, and more is in the forecast, so look for some additional accumulation for the morning session, so check the Snowbird site for depth accumulation and plan on fun.   Here is a second shot for today that shows the Alta tram docking.   I thought it was green….. but NO!!   Peace Out!!
