HIGH PRESSURE

4-07-14 by dave

The high pressure pattern moved into the Front after the last impulses left some very nice accumulation on the dance floor.   It was a race to stay ahead of the Sun, despite the cold morning temps that helped keep the product soft for the first couple of hours.  Overnight wind had developed some wind lines, but all over the hill there was tricky wind slab to deal with.   Some of the lines were easy to negotiate, especially the East and North facing aspects.  But a Lewis and Clark sojourn revealed some very slabby lines that required a survival approach to say the least.  The Groomers were primed and offered some ground pounding fun for most of the day.  The big surprise was the machine work on Lower Silver Fox that had been covered with yesterday’s coating.  Though the Essence was medium density,  there was exquisite silky lines all the way down that steep smooth drop.  That pitch is very rarely prepared in such a manner, and it was incumbent on the morning crew to hit that while it was going off.  The Sun finally raised the ambient temp of the air, and the lower aspects became a bit pasty around 2:00PM, when a much more deliberate approach was required, and I called it for the day.   Tomorrow, look for the Groomers to be the best smooth on the hill, as the wind lines got worked.  The High North is still holding the cold and will continue to be cold in the AM.  Plan on getting the best of the day early, as the increasing temps will work the hill quickly.  Stay ahead of the Sun and get all of it. Here is a shot of the Bookends looking smooth and steep. There is goodness wherever you look. Peace Out!!!DSC02029

Goo, dare I call you that, I LOVE your book. The way you open with the spirit of the mountain and 3 vortex each at almost 360 degrees hits the soul deeply. Add to this lovely offering on paper, what a treat to meet you in the tram line while here with the PSIA academy!

And, your blog kicks it dude! your definitions of the 16th hit the bullseye, sans bs. No sales pitch, just heart and data. Very cool.

Best to you and all you’re doing for each and all of us at the same time smiles continue for you!
