FAST LAPS

An enthusiastic morning crew hit the First Tram this morning where the Grooming and overnight snow making offered some very tasty lines for the morning session.  Under the Guns, the Gun Powder began to build up a velvet carpet of smooth.   I had to slow down going into that section, digging in to get as much as possible out of that sweetness.  Very light traffic made the hill feel like a private country club.  Fast laps were on tap with no waiting for the return trips and roomy Trams to enjoy.  The East facing section of the Middle Cirque opened up to various reviews.  I am still waiting for more snow.   The air was clear and I took this shot of the Valley to illustrate scale.  All your problems look so small when you are at the Summit.  DSC02311Tomorrow, look for some weather to have moved into the Front, which will be problematic for visibility.   It will be very nice to get some more cover, but expect continued firmness on the main runs.  I got a chance to ski with some friends today and one of the Crested Butte hard corps was making some laps with me.  It is so nice to stretch out and motor top to bottom. Here is an up close and personal shot of J. R. after a blistering top to bottom rock fest.DSC02314  Hey to Big Ken, Lee, Doc,  and the entire Crested Butte crew.  We all hold down the dream, thanks for sharing it with me.  It will be another great day of early season training.  Be there early for the quiet but ripping laps.  Ciao!!
